    Thermostat location s 4.3L Mercruiser 1988 Alpha 1

    Hi, It seems that there are two places to install the thermostat. 1st one is at the top of the thermostat housing and the 2nd one at the very bottom (like on the car engine). Does it make a big difference where the thermostat is installed? Picture attached. Thanks.
