I am trying to figure out what type of control cables I need on my franken-pontoon. It has an older Mercury binnacle controller and a 2015 Yamaha F70 motor. The controller is dated 2001 so I thought I needed gen 1 style mercury cables but now that I have them it doesn't seem like these will work...
I'm starting to think the diagram in the shop manual is just wrong, even though there are multiple instances of it. Some of the actual engine pictures seem to show the alternator belt wrapping directly around the circ pump pulley.
I found the receipt from last fall in my e-mail and I wasn't charged for a new belt so I'm thinking they just reused the one that was there and probably didn't have to mess with the power steering belt.
