    1967 omc 120 i/o won't idle when warmed up

    our 1967 omc 120 i/o runs ok at higher speeds but won't idle when docking. when i take it back to neutral, the engine dies. It idles fine when first started but after a run it won't idle. would moving the "Start" lever help it idle when warmed up?

    After cruising at about 2000 RPM for an hour or so, we took our boat up a river at about 800 RPM. after half an hour the temperature gage showed 240 degrees.
