    Lehr 2.5 Propane Outboard

My personal ownership experience with this product has become dismal. I recently wrote about the "fast idle" which is inconvenient but relatively easy to compensate. A far more serious issue has surfaced. While out on a short trip across the bay I anchored near the town's dinghy dock and put the...

    Lehr 2.5 Propane Outboard

I just got this model for my dink and it "idles" too fast. The manual says it should idle at 2,000 rpm, +/- 150 rpm. Anyone else find this as a problem and what, if anything did you do about it?

    150 Optimax fuel reserve tank

I repowered my center console last month with a 150 Optimax and I?d like to be able to have a reserve, portable gas tank on board like I had with the old Force outboard. Trouble is, there is no quick connect fuel plug on the outside of the Optimax?s cowling?matter of fact, the fuel line appears...

    '09 Optimax 150

I've recently re-powered from a Force 120 with an in-line 10 micron separator mounted on the motor well. During the sea trial with 3 aboard I didn't notice this phenom, but the Optimax, at 5700 rpm's begins to miss after 2-3 minutes with myself only aboard. I cut the throttle for a bit and the...

    2009 Optimax 150

I just re-powered my 19' center console with this outboard. It's a Pacemaker motor and has less than 10hrs on it. The sea trial went well and we finalized the purchase. On the way home we put it in the water at my local ramp and took it out to the bay and back. Never got over 38mph with the old...

Removing #10 screws from fiberglass deck

In the past I have sheared-off more screw heads because, I think, of the adhesive sealant. Is there a good method of preparing decking screws for removal? (I say primarily decking because they are the ones most exposed to heat/cold, wet/dry and can be the most ornery to remove) Thanks

Got A Question About Towing Weight

A few years ago I took the boat, motor and trailer to the local feed store and had the whole package weighed on the "drive-on" scale...the bm&t weighed in at 3150 lbs., trailer attached to the tow vehicle. My question is, there is a tongue weight, and I honestly don't know what that might be...

    1997 Force 120

I bought this motor new and the question just came up. I presume the factory put the fuel filter in originally (between the tank and the fuel pump) but I've read in the forum that the filter should be spliced in after the pump, before the carburetor's fuel block. What do you say?:
