I repowered my 16.5' Alumaweld SeaSkiff last year with a new Mercury 60HP 4 stroke.
Everything is great but I ocasionally hear a whistling sound coming from inside the cowling on acceleration.
I took a look and there is an open vaccum fitting on the starboard side of the engine (see picture)...
Just took my new 60-HP Mercury EFI 4-stroke out for first two hours of break-in today.
All-in-all, the experience left me wondering about my $6,100 purchase.
One question for someone in the group who knows more about the Mercury 4-strokes than I do....
