    Alumacraft 19 Cruiseabout ID

A year ago some one named Charles posted an image of a large old Alumacraft for sale for $1,800 on Craigslist in Kalamazoo, MI asking what year and model it was. It was an exceedingly rare Alumacraft 19 Cruiseabout made only 2-3 years (1958-1959) and designed by Erich Swenson, the boat designer...

Whaler 15 Super Sport Limited Pros and Cons...

I found a cream colored, 1990 dual cowl Super Sport Limited. Its the 15.5' hull with a smirk. Pretty good shape. A couple chips in the gel coat on the driver's side sponson that have been sealed. No anti fouling paint on the hull. This boat has a lot of molded fiberglass occupying its deck: two...

1979 Boston Whaler 15--good crabber for 3 persons?

Hi, I need a stable crabbing boat for 3 persons (person weight totalling 600 lbs), plus the 3 or 4 baskets. I'm crabbing in a PNW estuary that I only have to go about a quarter of a mile to half a mile from dock to drop the baskets. Not much chop. The one I have found is pretty pristine. Stand...

17.5' Lucraft CC: foam and fiberglass sealed stringers?

Looking at a 17.5' LuCraft CC trihull. I asked owner if it were foam filled like Boston Whaler, or a fiber-glassed wooden floor with wood stringers. He replied that it is "foam filled with fiberglassed, sealed stringers." LuCraft, built in Daytona Beach, FL, apparently went out of business...

    1990 Alumacraft F Series ?

Did Alumacraft keep making Model F's until 1990? Found one on Craigs List that seller calls a 1990.

    Alumacraft Model F6 ?

Did Alumacraft ever make a 14 foot Model F6 in 1963. It has no splash tray across the transom, but seems to have high sides, rather like an FD. Here is a picture of one supposedly.

    1950s/1960s Model A 16 foot...

Vintage Aluminist, or anyone else with catalogues from late40s or early 1950s, Saw a Model A on Craigslist, probably from the 1950s. Seller said this Model A's transom plaque indicates it is rated for 12 hp and 646 pound load. It has no splash tray. He could not make out the hull number on the...

1981 Lund 17' Model ID Needed...

The pictures are below. Seller says its a 1981 Lund 17 footer, but there are no Lund graphics on hull. Does anyone recognize this model of Lund?

    1949 Alumacraft ?

Haven't seen this boat in the flesh yet. Just some pics. Owner says it is a 1949 and says a transom plaque reads "combination rowboat and outboard motor boat." Says hull number on knee brace is B4947. Notice across the floor rather than bow to stern stringer style bracing. I thought cross wise...

What kind of trim adjuster/motor mount is on this boat?

I've attached a picture of a 1988 18' Marlin cuddy that has a 135hp outboard mounted on the back in a gigantic, black mount of some kind. What kind of motor mount and hydraulic trim adjustment device is this? The seller of the boat said the boat came this way from the factory, but it looks to me...

    Alumacraft Kodiak ID

The seller claims his boat is an Alumacraft 14 foot Kodiak model. Below are pictures. He calls it a 1962, but the cork surfaced seating and lack of a rounded transom suggest early 1970s to me. Does anyone have Kodiak experience and comments? It appears to be a nice, deep boat.

Recommend Recommend 16-18' motor sailer for crabbing/bay fishing

I'm looking for a small motor sailer 18-20' that would have a boom high enough, or short enough, and a rear deck deep enough for stand up crabbing and fishing in a bay on the west coast. Some old cat boats in the north east used to serve this purpose. Basically want to combine sailing with...

Did Alumacraft make a 19 footer in late 50s?

The Alumacraft pictured below is supposed to be 19 feet long. It has a wacky wood cuddy cabin added on it. Questions: What model might this be? Any pictures of what is was supposed to look like before this wood cuddy modification? Could this Alumacraft possibly still be structurally sound? I...

Anyone Convert an aluminum bass boat to an open sled?

Has anyone converted, say, a late 80s Bass Tracker TX 17 to an open sled? Older aluminum bass boats are quite a bit cheaper in my part of the country than equivalent sized but more recent jon boats with similar hull construction. Can I just buy one of these older Bass Trackers and rip out the...
