i took the boat out last week after correctly setting the timing on it. boat ran fine, but when i bought it... it came with an automotive distriburator so i replaced it with a marine one and adjusted the timing.(timing was at 25 btdc before and now its at 8 deg).

i recently bought a boat and noticed that at the bottom the keel looks like the gel coat has came off looks like the previous owner did some patch work but it still looks ( not smooth)..how can i fix this? how much?do i need to fix soon or can it wait a while?

im buying a used 78 cobalt 19ft open bow and im wondering if anyone uses them for the ocean.. how far can i go safely? would this boat handle the open waters?not talking offshore just local inshore waters in san diego,long beach,malibu etc...

so today i started early! got going on the grinding part of it.. well..about 4 hrs later half the boat was looking pretty close to complete as far as the grinding goes.. when i noticed a piece of wood on the hull part i was grinding.. so i got my screwdriver and tried to pry it out! NO FN...

removed the foam,gas tank,rotted deck, stern drive unit,
yesterday i emptied out my boats gas tank about 25 gal 15 of it in my truck ( 04 avalanche) the rest into my friends now both our vehicles are stalling and dont turn on... weve tryed removing the gas out the tank through the hose and added 5 gal of the good gas still not wanting to start:eek...
