I’ve been asked to help with a young man’s motor, 17 yr old, and I got it running pretty well but it starts running hot after about 10 20 minutes. The impeller is working fine, I did the drill attached to drive shaft test and produces a good solid stream of water. But if I let it sit and idle...
Thank you all!
Follow up question but in the same vein
The bubbler hole has lots of exhaust coming out. At idle water barely bubbles at the foot. If I cover the hole with my finger it comes out of the foot. I suppose it’s the path of least resistance and the water pressure makes the...

I’m doing some work in this engine 15r74g and the exhaust seal/bushing is bustifucated. It’ll work but I’m here… may as well go back with new. However, it’s no longer available from anyone but eBay.
It’s 50 bucks on eBay but is there a known alternative you guys might suggest?

It’s in my bench vise and I’m not inclined to buy new.
When pulling rope it sounded odd then I heard the spring unwind in the housing.
Removed the pull start and found the tab had slipped into the housing. How does one repair this?
I tried the knock off adjustable cam follower and it bolts up but the adjustment hits the carb before WOT. With the adjustment of the cam throttle arm I hope to be in good shape. Thanks for the hint.
