    1982 4 winns 3.0 omc

    I just bought this boat a month ago, and i am going thru this and checking everything. This boat was a drug repo by the sheriff dept. so when they took it they did not winterize it.     OMC tilt system

    have a 1982 4winns with a 3.0 omc, replaced the tilt motor, still had problems with the motor going up or down. Took the gear apart and found that the pins were shattered. They appear to be hollow pins.<br /><br /> Do these pins need to be hollow for a safety reasons or can I put in solid pins?

    newby to the I/O

    I just bought a 1992 four winns deck boat from a police auction "drug repo" for $50.00.<br />Anyhow the police, when they took the boat they did not winterize the motor, so the engine block has a exterior crack in it.<br />It is a OMC 3.0..... my question is... how do you tell what HP it is?<br...

    3.0 OMC cracked block

    have a 1982 3.0 OMC which has a cracked block, looks like it is just an exterior crack, no water in the oil.<br />Could I use JB Weld to mend this crack, or is there to much pressure on this block?
