    1974 merc 50hp bypass safety switch?

    hey guys, i am trying to get this motor running STILL! i am going to get a key today, my question is, can i bypass the safety switch? the motor is a 50hp 500 thunderbolt probably 1974 model. any help would be awsome. thanks
