And no...you can't use it unless the hull is dang near the same configuration...strakes, deadrise, width, length...etc etc...too many variable as noted above.
At this point you are basically relying on a thin layer of plastic resin and fiberglass mat...which, while it has SOME strength to it, it's not much at all compared to a sound keel structure. While I have not seen it personally, I have a friend who actually watched a boat simply come apart...
@ typical $160/hr shop rates, you had to have saved at least a grand I would say...add in markup that shops add on parts...probably closer to $1,500...
Several years ago I was asked to help find a windshield for a friend's 1995 Baja that had had a tree fall on it and break about half of it. We finally found a complete windshield for $3,500...a guy happened to be parting out a similar model. Crazy.
Mercathode systems are great...when they work...which unfortunately isn't that often. It's best to combine it with a Quicksilver isolator. Does your boat have the Mercathode monitoring system?
I've found that it's simply easiest to just give them the 'thunk' every now and then...every Faria tach I have ever seen did this at one point or another.
Indeed. For the last several years I have only put maybe 15 - 20 hours a year on my boat. It's stored 300 miles from my residence, and I just don't get to the lake like I used to...

Brunswick was very good at sourcing commonly available products to help keep costs down, have you look to see if there is ANY sort of identifying information on the intact pieces? Sometimes you can find virtually identical parts at big box hardware stores, often in an unlooked-for location. Or...

Yours is definitely the winner as far as hours go! I've had friends and family that got close to 500 hours out of the pump on an Alpha.

Yes, the outdrive will kick up but generally only when the skeg is hit and whilst in forward motion. Be aware there are a number of conditions that will prevent this from happening...lots of information on the Web.
Well...the "rule" is really ONLY applicable for comparing one OF THE SAME PROP to another. The "rule" goes out the window if the model of the prop changes, number of blades, diameter, style, etc change.
