    FYI. Took starter apart and cleaned and lubed it. Voltage improved to 120 Vdc. Still no spark. Found an old post that said to open the cannon connector to the front of the boat. Fired right up!!!! I had the “kill” wire undone so I don’t know what the issue is. New problem, new search.

    Thanks for the reply. Its a brand new battery. Took the spark plugs out and tried it. Good voltage!! Now to tear into the starter assembly🥴

    I recently bought a 1975 85hp Evinrude with no spark. Compression is good and spins freely. I have the CDI troubleshooting guide and a top of the line test meter (true rms with peak hold).     Helmut pin removal

    Trying to remove the outdrive. 1983 Volvo AQ270. The helmut pin doesn’t have the holes for the 1/4” x 20 bolt to remove it. Any trade secrets to get the pin out? Drill and tap and use slide hammer? Here’s what it looks like.
