I recently acquired a 1988 johnson 70hp on an older 15.5' flat transomed fiberglass boat rated 50hp. Engine was bought by previous owner off an ebay seller in Florida. Boat goes 24mph at approx 2/3 to 3/4 throttle. Does not go faster at full throttle, just sounds rougher...
