    hooking up controls

    Well thanks to you guys i fixed the controls to my boat myself.... now when hooking them up to the motor i know i put the controls in neutral and the motor in neutral and adjust the cables to fit. but how do i tell if the motors in neutral.......o yeah anything special i need to do before trying...

    i have just swaped a 50 hp 77 evinrude with a 85 hp 77 evinrude everything lined up. but when we hooked up the perviously working controls it would not go into forward. so we took the controls and cables off the donor boat and put it on the bass boat. the controls again worked fine when mounted...
