well i finally fixed the problem i have been trying to track down all summer. my engine would surge at idle and die as soon as if gets put in gear after being on the lake for 1-2 hours...threw a brand new power pack on it. pretty happy about that but now another issue came about......when i get...
can someone tell me what would cause my rpm gauge to bounce all over the place... sometimes it works fine but most the time is all over the place. this is a 1997 evinrude intruder 150hp. thanks
i recieved my new power pack in the mail today. this appears to be a basic bolt on part.. am i right about this????are all these goofy tests really required that the instructions say to do???

looking to do a spark test...were i put y key in and turn it over doesnt have the clip connection safety thing to take off as a kill switch....how can i do this without the safety thing at the key...
well now its starting to get frustrating.. been having an on going problem with this thing...runs well at first but after it warms up and after running for an hour or so it dies when i give it gas and can barely keep it running... it is fine in neutral and only does this while under load...
I just replaced the vro fuel pump on my evinrude 150 intruder. i swapped these out with ease. ive been reading now about this pulse limiter. should i have done something with it? and can someone tell me exactly where it is located. thanks
i have read the top secret file on how to do this. i am in the middle of doing this. it says to cut to oil line 1 1/2 inches from the motor and plug it. does it really matter were you cut and plug it? i dont think it would i just want to double check. the lines in the motor are pre formed and id...
I have a 1997 Evinrude Intruder 150hp. i seem to be having some problem and dont know whats going on. can this motors oil\fuel ratio get out of wack with it being oil injected? seems to be getting an incredible amount of oil or not enough fuel..im hoping to get a carb rebuild kit and clean them...
i plan on replacing all my line from the tank to the carbs...i understand that all the way to the motor is pretty simple. but from the motor to the pump then the carb im not sure of.. i see the lines in the motor are like formed to fit in the motor. do i have to buy special lines for these ones...
ive been doing a little research on this decarb process. some people say it is not needed to go WOT for decarb... so im wondering if i can decarb at home with muffs on?

im having some issues with my motor starving for fuel.. i want to inspect the pickup tube but i cant get it out...i have everything loose and start to pull the tube out and it stops like there is something attached to the buttom and wont let it come all the way out of the hole...anyone know...
