    Was cleaning carb. on 1990 8 HP johnson I found a rubber o-ring on the idle mixture screw.It was at the bottom end of the spring and was pretty much deformed. The exploded view does not show this . does it belong and why would someone put it there.Thanks.

    Am still having trouble with this motor. I thought I had solved it when I found a bad head gasket. Compression is now at 100lbs on both cyl.,I can get a spark to jump 7/16". After I get it started ,it runs good,idles good ,after it and runs awhile I can cut it off and it will start right back up...

    Mariner Spark Plug
