last week end I was out on the lake and sputter and tow in.
the mechanic that rebuilt the power head says it over heated?
how does a new engine over heat?
He's saying not covered under the warranty?

I recently had my tach stop working I tested the wires at the tach and the voltage at the purple wire is 14.9volts.
the voltage at the grey wire is 14.9 volts as well I understand this wire should have a pulse voltage?
Am I looking at a rectifier problem?

I have a 1995 Johnson 200 Ocean Runner,on ky last outing It suddenly sputtered and would not go above 2500 rpm. I'm pretty sure it's a safety switch that's doing this I'm not sure which direction to go at it I have a Seloc Manuel for the outboard.I'm not finding the symptom in the trouble shoot...
just a few of the pics I have. i have done quite a bit of work on this boat,i tak it out 25-30 miles into the Gulf of mexico Grouper fishing as well as flats fishing. It has been a good boat for a 30 year old boat got it about where I want now LOL.
