Confirm the plug wire is good, use a volt/ohm meter to confirm continuity thru the wire. If the wire is good, keep moving upstream to the magnito. Confirm mag clearence to the flywheel magnet (get specs from dlr)
Check carborater...run a mix of carb cleaner and gas thru it, fast idle so it runs thru good. Make sure gas is fresh. Run a fuel stabilizer into the system for off season storage.
I'd remove them if you can, take the bolt and try to wiggle it in the mount. The rubber is likely to wear first. If it seems sloppy, replace (both, not just one)
Not a good side shot. It says "Beachcraft 170M". My searching seems to indicate the Reinell 170 is the same? I know Reinell bought out Beachcraft, with same I-4 3.0 engines.
Getting back into boating. After a career of marine engineering, and owning about 8 or 9 boats in 50 years, this little puddle jumper will be the smallest one yet. My first Beachcraft so anyone out there with info is welcome to chime in.
Thanks!
