I've purchased 2 force 120hp motors (i think). They were cheap with good compression. They allegedly run but one developed a miss and the previous owners mechanic told him that forces weren't worth investing any money into. So long story short, he re-powered and i bought the motors for a few...
From the way your explaining the re assembly, it does sound like i have it on the shaft in the correct direction so thats good.
So your saying there is enough vertical space between the bottom surface of the crank shaft and the top surface of the mid section when the powerhead is installed for...
While pulling a Powerhead off of a 25 inch midsection to put it on my 20 inch midsection I found the part pictured on the driveshaft between the Powerhead and mid section. Out of my own stupidity, i took it off to inspect it and forgot what direction it was on the drive shaft. I cant find the...
Its a 2 stroke from the same time frame the boat was built. I took the weight into consideration when making a motor decision.
At this point im thinking that i will just try to buy a cheap used 23p or 25p prop to do a water test and then purchase a nice prop from there. I will of course have to...
I have a tachometer. My understand is that if i hit the max rpm of the motor (6000rpm) before i hit the max rpm due to the prop, that the test wont mean anything. Because at that point the motor is the rpm limiting factor and not the prop.
From what your saying it sounds like i need a prop...
I have a 1995 Fisher sv 19 gt. Nadaguides claims my boat has a “net weight” of 1100lbs. Its not clear to me whether this includes the motor dry weight or not.
originally it had a force 120 on it. This force 120 had an aluminum 19p prop. I decided to get rid of the foce and pick up a very...
Alright that makes sense. I guess i should specify. The guy thats selling this lower unit bought it for his 82 merc but the motor “lost cylinder 2” about 2 weeks after installing so he decided to sell the lower unit that he just bought. Ill attach the picture of the listing. Ive heard that...
So it sounds like no adapter plate is needed. If its the same exact gasket then i suppose all of the ports are the same size and shape. Is it safe to say, just for my own knowledge, that all 2.5 motors and midsections are interchangeable or is this not necessarily true?
I will also need to to...
Ive seen variations of this question asked but i cant seem to find a concrete answer. My question pertains to the interchangeability of 2.5 litre mercs from the late 90s and early 2000s. Specifically my scenario is that i have an xr6 150 with a blown powerhead. I havnt had a lot of luck in the...
Well heres my experience so far.
I got desperate enough to try buying a used outboard on the internet from this web site. Contacted them and they quickly replied back saying that the motor i wanted was still available. They offered a different ways to pay digitally so that they could ship it to...
Quick question for you all. Looking for a used 150hp motor for my bass boat. Havnt had much luck locally at boat shops or on marketplace/craigslist. Havnt seen anything on ebay either.
After looking online for a while i did find a used motor that i like on wncmarinesalesinc.com. I cant find...
