    85hp FORCE OVERCHARGING.

    I HAVE A 1988 85hp FORCE OUTBOARD.BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FITTED IT CHARGES BETWWEN 17 TO 19 VOLTS AT 3500rpm TO FULL THROTTLE.IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN FIT A VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN THE PLACE OF THE RECTIFIER? I HAVE FITTED A NEW RECTIFIER AND THE VOLTAGE IS THE SAME AS BEFORE.

    overcharging force.

    I have a 1988 85 force u s marine which i think is over charging.The voltage starts off at 12.5v and when you go on to fast idle (2500 rpm)it goes up to 17+ volts.I have fitted a new rectifier and is still the same.I have tested the stator and is less than 2 ohms, could the stator be at fault?I...

    We have a 1989 Force 85hp US Marine on our 17ft Bayliner. On our second trip out part of one blade snapped off.
