The past 3 or 4 years I've been having tach problems. When I would start up my 1996 Force 120 the tach wouldn't work for the first 5 or 10 minutes. Then all of the sudden it would come alive, until I would shut off the motor. Then on restart it would go through the whole process again...
Perhaps a dumb question, but could anyone tell me the difference between a rectifier and a voltage regulator. I understand the rectifier on my Force outboard (probably other brands too) changes AC current to DC current, and a voltage regulator manages that current. But I hear the terms used...
