    7.5 hp and 9.8 the same ?

    ok late 60s 7.5 hp and a 1968 9.8 mercury are these pretty much the same motor ? the 9.8 had no spark so i snatched all the guts out from under the fly wheel of a blown up 1960s 7.5 slapped it on the 9.8 because it all looked the same all the bolt holes and wires and everything matched...
