    How to Fix Loose Engine Mount?

    Noticed lag screw loose in one of my rear sterndrive engine mounts. Wood is punky, but area is solid so I'm guessing decay is limited to screw holes. What's the best way to restore integrity of wood and reattach screws?

    How Long Should Engine Run After Shutting Off Tank?

    While winterizing, I shut off valve to gas tank under bow and it took five to 10 minutes for my '69 OMC 120 hp stern drive engine to run out of gas at idle. Made me wonder if valve leaks. Water separator still had liquid in it when I took it off afterward. Should it run that long?

    Erratic Tachometer

    My tachometer becomes erratic and swings wildly when engine gets to about 2500 rpm, but engine doesn't change. This stops when engine rpms increase to 3500 or so. This just started. What could be going on here?<br />BlackSmoke

    Just out of curiosity, what top rpm should I expect from my '69 OMC 120 hp 4-cyl. electric shift stern drive? It's in a 17' tri-hull fiberglass bowrider. Sorry, don't know prop pitch. I've been topping out around 4,500. Should I expect more?
