I have a 1983, 2 stroke seahorse johnson that dies if I put the hammer down, especially if I drive at idle for a minute or 2. If I choke it out for a few seconds then take off there is a lag for 1 second, but then it seems to take off fine.
I have checked the fuel pump, it is in great shape...
Looks like I have diagnosed the issue down to no fuel getting into the second cylinder. does anyone have advice on how I can clean the carb without removing it?
I need some help figuring out an issue with my outboard.
when the engine is in neutral it revs up fine, seems to get top rpm (I don't have a tac), but when in gear the rpms are maybe half what they should be. When the boat planes (I have to move forward in the boat to get it to plane) the RPMs...
I have:
changed the plugs
changed the fuel filter
topped up the engine oil level
run a can of seafoam
put on the spare prop
nothing seems to have worked. the boat will not get up on step without me going to the bow. Problem started out of the blue 4 days ago while out on the water...
