    I'm didn't even know the mechansic I used changed out the originals last year until this happened... (and I asked, he didn't keep any of the parts or at least thats what he said when I called the other week) The new one I bought is a CDI which seems to be about as good as I can find right now.

    That's sort of what I might be seeing, 0.3 ohms. I received a new CDI coil today but unfortunately I wont get back up to the boat to try it until next weekend... Fingers crossed but I'm fairly certain this is the problem (or at least A problem) with how I swapped everything around to isolate...

If it ohmed bad it tells you there's a open or short condition but if it ohms good it's not really a true result.     Finally managed to get back to the boat. Checked the spark with a gap tool and the middle cylinder wasn't getting spark. Top and bottom were jumping 1/2".
