I bought a used outdrive (alpha one). I am putting a new impeller in it and changing out some seals. I have never seen the copper tube on top of the impeller housing in any drawings. looks like it is supposed to be there. help please.
Ok, I finally got a timing light and set my timing to 8* btdc per specs. But lost 300 rpm's on top end. I had set it by ear originally and I guess i had it a little more advanced. does this mean my distributer is not advance properly?

My steering arm pin has slop in it where it connects to the top of the gimbal ring. so I bought a good used one off ebay. I need to know the best way to change it out, and if the outdrive has to come off to do it.

Do you guys know where to get the special mounting bolts for a vortec intake manifold? They are supposed to be rounded on the bottom to prevent over-torqueing the intake.:confused:
