    200hp xri only hitting 5000rpm

    Boats around 1800lbs empty climbs up to a plane pretty fast but tops out at 5000rpm.Im thinking the motor should be hitting around 6000 right? Sorry,spedo says 60mph btw

    max rpm on 86 150 blackmax

    Right now the tac is reading 5500 at wot.I thought 2 strokes can rev to the moon.my ktm dirt bike does.and yes I realize my bike has one cyl and the boat has six.

    strange looking spark plugs

    I've seen alot of different kinds of spark plugs in my life but the ones in my 86 150xr2 have no ground strap,just a center electrode. Is this right? What kind of plugs are you guys runnin? Jeff z

    changed water pump impeller now water coming out of prop exhaust and not hot

    Wtf,is this normal? 1986 150xr2 v6. The pisser is peeing alittle even it idle and when I rev her up she has a good stream but spits if that makes sence. Did I do sommething wrong? Jeff z

    WTF? Wrong head gaskets or improved design

    Got the head gaskets today for the max and they dont look exactly like the originals. What do you guys think? Notice how the coolant holes are smaller then the factory ones.

    150 black max overheating

    The motor runs awsome but when Im traveling between 15mph and 25mph she overheats but if I slow down to 10mph or speed up over 30mph she cools right down. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated. Jeff Z

    Cold start issue on a 90 blackmax 150

    First time boat owner here. Ive got an 86 capri 17' with a 150hp black max that wont cold start unless I use starting fluid.Is this a comon problem with 2 stroke out boards? Im thinking that the solonoids on the carbs are cold start solonoids. Could this be the possible problem? Thanks in...
