    Position of coils

    Could someone tell me how far back the coils need to slide outward towards the flywheel? On my 1961 Johnson RDS23. Does the back of the coil set flush with the bottom of the place it sits or does it need to be flush with the recessed top part of where it sits? Thanks for replies.

    How’s it gonna push it?

    Im mounting a 1961 Johnson 40hp RDS23 on my 1990 19ft Lowe aluminum deck boat. Bought the boat used and found the Johnson 88hp had a badly grooved cylinder so i don’t know how well it pushed it around. Just going to fish and swim off of it. How do you think it’ll do? Thanks for replies.
