    Thunderbolt ignition converter box question

    It's a 1991 or so Force 150 The box that takes 12v form battery, converts it to ac sends it to switch box. Since I don't have a switched power from the engine harness, any idea how much risk I'm taking getting power directly form battery terminal of starter solenoid?

    Where does the CONVERTER BOX in the thunderbolt ignition get it's power? I have the thunderbolt ignition. It may have been added to earlier motor.     I'm reassembling my Force 150 1989. Please let me know how to assemble the upper water tube to powerhead..I've ordered the grommet, but can't for the life of me see where the old one was, or see how the new one will fit. Do i just 'glue it between the powerhead inlet and the upper water tube...

    89force 150 trim cylinder housing and lower shaft stuck

    My 1989 force 150 trim cylinder housing is frozen to the lower shaft. The clymer book says "tap" it out". Yeah right. It's frozen solid. I don't see excessive amount of rust. I'm soaking what I do see with penetrating oil. I'm hoping the "snug" part is only where the shaft goes through the stern...
