After refurbishing my Yamaha gauges I noticed the fuel gauge wasn't working. Tested the gauge by grounding the fuel gauge wire and it was fine. The gauge shot right up to FULL when grounded.

My Yammy gauges were all messed up on this boat. Couldn't read them at all. UV rays got to them over the years. I decided to remove them, take them apart and refurbish them.

Right now all I remember is seeing 240 hp rating on the plate. Windy today 55 mph gusts so not taking canvass off today less the wind let's up. Soon as I can get at it I'll check it out real good.

looks like the style of your transom is different then mine? My boat is a 1986 but in any event if I end up replacing the wood, whatever it takes to replace will get done. One day atta time.
Watermann, thanks for that picture. If I'm seeing it right, looks like your picture has shrunk down the splash pan from left to right.. correct? Do you have any others of the transom splash pan removed maybe sitting on the ground or something?
After further investigation... This boat was painted that beige color. I found over spray the more I dug into the project.

Am I seeing your pics correctly? Did you have to remove your entire motor splash pan to insert the new plywood? My transom has a cap accross the top that looks like it's all one piece like molded/welded/connected to the splash well. I have the same boat as you I believe.
