I'm currently restoring a boat that has a Merc 500 Outboard but im just learning bout it. When you push the choke button and then the choke solenoid engages, does the solenoid disengage upon start or do I have to press the switch again to disengage it?
I have a 50hp Mercury outboard that hasnt been run in AT LEAST five years, maybe more and it was winterized. What procedures should I go through and/or what sequences shoul I do so as not to cause damage to this motor when trying to start it?
