installing back the extension case the metallic paint is peeling off the surface of the case where the oil pan gasket goes,If anyone happens to know if it would leak if I scrape off the metallic paint completely off the extension case.

Hi im installing my oil pan gasket and ive been wondering if I could use Loctitie 518 and if it will be sealing the salt water from mixing with the oil? The service manual recommends using three bond 1216 but I cant find that stuff locally.
