First time starting this season. Turned ignition key 3 or 4 times no problem. On last try the motor continued to crank and would not stop. Disconnected battery to stop. As soon as I touch cable to battery, motor cranks again. Ignition does not appear stuck. Any suggestions?
One of my fuel recirculation lines broke off at the check valve just above the middle carb. It's just about impossible to get to. Do I really need to remove the air silencer, and carbs to replace this line? The motor is running fine but the broken line is squirting fuel .
The bottom carb is overflowing with fuel. I have found a broken line just above the carb that connects to a white tapered fitting. The only mention I can find in the manual is "Tee drain hose system". Can someone tell me what this does and symptoms/problems of this being broken for some time...
After reaching WOT 5300 RPM I got a overheat/fuel restriction alarm that silenced within a minute of powering down to idle. Upon inspection I found the bottom carb to be overflowing fuel. After searching this site I believe the the float valve needle is the most likely culprit. My question is if...
After cruising for an hour at 3000 - 3500 RPM's I tried running WOT. After about 2 minutes at 5000+ RPM I got a long steady alarm. Immediately powered down to idle. Alarm went silent after about a minute and a half. If motor did in fact reach overheat temp. would this be normal for the motor to...
My marine mechanic showed me where a piston ring went bad on my motor (deep gouges inside cylinder head) and he is going to quote me a price to replace the power head this week. Any idea what a fair price should be for this job? Thank you.

re: KROSEMOND - leaking oil
I'd really like to know how you made out with your problem of oil leaking from beneath the cowl and down the shaft. I have a 1983 Johnson 150 that just started the EXACT same problem after the dealer did some "carburetor work" during commissioning. Another mechanic...
