    New thermostat overheats

    Replaced thermostat in a 1961 18 HP Evinrude Fastwin. Put it a barrel of water, Exhaust would spit out water but power head would get unbearably hot.     Which Spark Plugs

    I have a 1961 18 H.P. Evinrude Fastwin. The parts manual said Champion J-4J. Champion books said J8C. I pulled out Champion J6C of the engine. I don't know who to believe. Regards, Bobjones

    I have a 1961 18HP Evinrude Fastwin Model 15034 What should the ignition points be set at? I guess the point gap stting is also the timing for this engine? Regards Bobjones

    Fuel pump for FASTWIN 18 HP

    I am looking for a gasket set for a fuel pump on a 1961 Evinrude Fastwin 18 H.P. model 15034. I have given up on gasket set and am now looking for the pump itself. I can't seem to get the right part number. I have been given 154611 but this fits 9.9/15 HP. Confused, Bobjones
