    Ok im not at home but tonight i will give you model # … exactly what i think …a little bit of water in the oil but not that much …bearing carrier and the bearing in front of the gear was nice no rust nothing everything look fine… a see a guys who made a video of a reverse gear stuck on the prop...

    Yes sorry is a johnson 40hp 1986… because they are jumping when a put it in front and reverse i want to see if it’s worn i think the clutch dog is not square anymore and it not engaged right in the gear

    Need help !! Reverse gear won’t come out of the prop shaft

    Hi i need to change the dog clutch on my 1986 johnson lower unit… so i pull out the bearing carrier the 2 snap ring and the bearing and plate but now the reverse gear wont come out! it suppose to be easy but it seem to get stuck on the prop shaft… i push the gear and it turn free on the shaft...
