    Friend of mine and I were out on the lake today. His engine (just purchased a couple months ago) started and ran fine. Ran well at WOT but dropped down to under 2000 rpms. He took it out of gear, revved it up a few times and then took off again, to which said engine ran fine for about 3 or 4...

    Mariner engines???

    Hey guys...been surfing through the new merc website and noticed they have a few new toys to offer. Especially like the look of the new optimax 175. However, I noticed that the Mariner line was nowhere to be found. Has Merc completely dropped the Mariner engine?

    Type of gasoline?

    local wrench told me it was OK to run premium grade in my '98 90hp Evinrude. I was always under the impression that regular was the best. Will running premium hurt my engine?
