The switch test good with ohm meter. Cannot see it go open moving shifter. The test in service manual just says to push pin to manually close switch. Thought I might see it close moving shift linkage
I have a 93 200 xp Evinrude. Starts and idles great. I just purchased it in November. It had a cold start issue which was a bad primer. Now starts great. Previous owner couldn't figure it out it appears and they replaced ignition and stator. Not sure what else they did to it. I put it on the...
I never tried to get it to squirt without pumping it up because it doesn't work that way. It has to have pressure to spray. If you pump the bulb up it will spray for about 8 seconds and stop when pressure is gone. I was sure I had a bad primer. I was told I was not checking it properly. But I...
Careful with my words? Lol. The man sent me down a rabbit hole. Technically you are incorrect. The primer will squirt with ball pumped up until the pressure is gone. So telling me I have to crank it to see if primer works wrong. When owners manual tell you to hold in key for 8 seconds before...
Well just so you know. I was correct. If the bulb is pumped up and you push key in when key is on it will spray until pressure is gone. The solenoid doesn’t know if it’s cranking or not. I had 2 new bad solenoids. I ran every test I could find and think of before asking on this forum. Finally...
Ok everyone it’s fixed. Defective new part twice. Order another from a different manufacturer and they failed to put the gasket in it. SMDH. I put gasket from new one I didn’t send back yet. Works like I thought and read. Yes if the bulb is pumped up fuel will spray if you push key in. Doesn’t...
Yes it clicks. I even took top off and plunger pulls down. Fuel will not come out unless I turn lever to manual. I’ve hooked direct 12 volts to it same results.
Ok manually raising the lever fuel comes out of solenoid. No cranking of engine bulb pumped up. Electrically no fuel but if I rotate lever I have fuel. I have 13.5 volts and 5 ohm resistance. Hooked a headlight to circuit to be sure it’s carrying the load. That eliminates switch and wires. I...
No and as I understand it cranking has nothing to do with it. When you pump the bulb it puts pressure on the fuel lines. Raising manual lever does the same as electric solenoid. Mine will only spray fuel manually not electrically.
