    Johnson gas tank connection

    One pic you can see the two pins are equal in length so probably not a problem there but the other pic, the connection is not snug. Should it be a closer fit? It doesn't leak fuel but could it be leaking air? Brand new fitting on the fuel line.

    Timing 9.5 johnson

    Are these the marks I use with a volt meter? I saw a couple of videos on the subject, looks pretty easy other than the marks face front and the bottom plate moves around. Should you have the throttle at stop or does it matter?

    Do the impeller fins need to point a certain way? Also My points came with felt pads. The old points had no pads, are they necessary and if so where do they go.

    Johnson 9.5 Gears

    What are your thoughts on the gears pic. There is wear and tear on the drive shaft mostly but a little on the prop shaft too.. Should I clean it up with emery cloth? My seal kit and points kit came in yesterday so I am ready to go to work.

It was pretty nasty, caked with grease etc. Anyway, when re-installing, do you line up the first tooth of the gear on the handle with the first slot in the rack? Also the plastic screw in the rack has the flared head snapped off...
