Thanks, I was able to free up the bendix and it engages ok now. The engine started ok. But I still want to remove the starter and rebuild it. Since I can't see why it was hanging up. Thanks again.
The battery is good. The starter is good. All the conectios are good. The bedix is hanging up. I tapped on the shaft (lightly) and the bendix and it started working.
I want to take it apart, clean it and replace anything that needs replaces. I want to have a reliable motor.

When I switch the key to the start position. The starter spins but the gear doesn't engage. I have 12.4 volts at the starter. I bought the boat a month ago and it worked when I bought it.
