    speed expected for a 1980 9.9 evinrude

    what kind of speed (ballpark) can i expect to get out of a (properly running) 1980 evinrude 9.9 pushing a 14ft edson aluminum boat? with just me in it on a calm day, my gps read 35 km/h. sound about right?

    sticky throttle

    i have a 1980 9.9 evinrude that starts and runs great except for two things. 1) i cannot 'rev' the throttle in neutral (idle speed dial adjusts fine), and 2) when i put it into forward and turn the throttle, it accelerates normally, then seems to stick and hesitate before accelerating to top...
