    Merc. compression check

    Could someone explain to me the proper way to check compression on a outboard motor? I have been told to take all plugs out, one plug at a time, get motor warmed up, open up trottle, and check cold with closed trottle .Thanks

    75 Merc Just No Right

    Took 24' pontoon out with 75 mercury and motor ran fine until full trottle. It ran like the foot was not in the water. Like a blow out. I checked it while running and it was in the water fine, trimmed all the way down. Motor performs great until full trottle. any ideas

    75 Merc. on pontoon

    I just bought a used 24' party barge with 75hp mercury. Wondering if the 75hp would pull a skier. If not could I get a different prop or do I need to bump up to a 115hp. Can any one gave my a price range on a 1995-2000 model 115hp Merc, Yamaha, Johnson, Evinrude.

    75 hp Mercury Lower Unit

    Drained oil out of lower unit to service and noticed the oil was creamy like coffee. Not milky white. The drain screw, vent screw, and fill screw were missing O-rings. Could it be just O-rings or do I have a big problem. Shifts good no noises.

    Just purchased a 1995 75hp merc. I checked compression before warming motor. All three cylinders are the same at 95 psi. Is this good or bad. Thanks
