    1999 mercury 135hp outboard. Did these pieces shoot out of exhaust.

    Started motor first time and when I looked on ground under exhaust these were lying on the ground. They feel like ceramic. Did not hear any unusual noise when it started. Put in forward and prop worked okay.

    knocking sound from 99 merc 135hp

    There is a knocking sound coming from engine, did not hear this sound with muffs, but while in the water it was heard. What is it?

    mercury 15hp kicker

    I bought a boat from an estate and it has a 15hp merc as a kicker. I cant' imagine that the previous owner would use this motor without an electric start but I can't find any indication that it is. Am I missing something And would also like to know if it is a 2 or 4 stroke engine. It is a 2001...
