Im securing the ends of an actuator to a jack plate and just didn’t want the nuts to loosen over time with the movement of the surrounding environment and the vibrations
Red (permanent) locktite states is only water resistant whereas blue (non permanent) states is waterproof. Anything available that is both waterproof and only removeable with high heat that can withstand vibrations from boat/motor running? Thanks!
So I finally bit the bullet and ordered the replacement actuator for the pt130 after modifying the mount for a much less expensive linear actuator only to have the actuator fail at the end of the first run in the water. The factory cmc actuator I ordered comes with the spring pins for mounting...
So on the inside of the transom there are metal plates on top and below them is a pretty large gap before the bottom inside of the boat. To verify, I dug between that gap with a long thin rod a little and the pictures show that the wood between is definitely rotted. The space below the plates is...
What I’m leaning toward doing is getting everything ready to mount (including drilling the new hole locations in the CMC plate and transom, but before tightening the bolts I would push as much marine Tex into the crack I created then tighten everything and surround the outside edges of the...
So I finally pulled the trigger on a used CMC power tilt and trim for the Jon boat. Before taking the old motor off, I saw that the outside portion of the transom had an 1/8” thick aluminum plate attached, that the motor had mounted to. Unfortunately the size of the plate was just a little...
Thanks, I was trying to figure out if a used actuator i had access to would work to replace one that was for sale with a broken one, but seems like they made them pretty specifically for that one model
Anyone have a pt-130 they don’t mind sharing dimensions for the actuator assembly and distances between connection points on the jack plate in both fully open and closed positions? I can’t seem to find this info anywhere I’ve been looking. Thanks!
Im not knowledgeable of what each of those electrical lines control and although I didnt think so, i wasn’t completely sure if the water flow was affected anywhere by the electrical system once the motor was running. Especially since the water was pumping good before. But sounds like the...
I usually keep string trimmer line on boat in case tell tale is clogged but couldn’t find it on water so tried pushing in 40# fishing line (thickest I had on boat). May not have been enough to clear a potential clog. Pushed string trimmer line in once home but unable to test at the time but will...
