It's a real strange one this, sure there is water in the drive oil that I need to fix. But after pressure testing the drive @ 15psi over night there was no drop it held all night.
So today it's still held 15psi and turning the prop every hour, putting it into gear (really can't see what that...
Ok this one has me a little stumped :)
I've read and re-read the manual but still have the problem, I know I'm going to be asked for the ID number's but sorry I don't have them:facepalm:
I've removed the control unit disconnected each cable and checked, the two cable are in good condition and...
I've noticed a huge difference this year from last year, so thought I'd ask the question.
Are any other Canadians noticing water in there gas this year?
Paul
I helped a friend out last year, usual story boat would not idle on a nice sunny Sunday morning:facepalm:. So I did a quick mod to the valve (see pic) which stayed like this for the rest of the season and worked fine.
I'm not saying this is a FIX, but an easy mod to get you out boating.
Just...
Picked up a boat last week, she's an old-un that needs some TLC but for the age in very good shape.:joyous:
It wasn't until I got it home and started to have a good look around I noticed the distributor:confused: looks like a truck one. I know I'm going to have to change it, but what I don't...
Hi
I've just cleaned the carbs on my yamaha 90tlr and would like to check that they are in sync, I'm guessing there is a right way and a wrong way to to this.
Thanks Paul
Hi guy's
After doing a search and finding some very useful info how to test a rectifier, I feel that I have found my problem. I tested the ohms on the yellow, yellow /gray wires and get a reading both ways so I think I can safely I need a new one.
But my question is about the diode setting, I...
Hi
Would a leak down test give the same results on an open water cooling circuit as it would on a closed water circuit like in a car.
Trying to find if the head gasket has gone before I strip it down, I'm getting water in the oil.
Cheers Paul
Hi Guy's and Gal's
Mercury 25hp EFI 3 cylinder 4t outboard
Model 1a254 13fk
Serial 0r170306
What I've done.
Put my strobe light on and it flashes (odd), put a spark gap tester on and nothing. Checked the trigger Volts to the coils and only get 9.5 volts, something not quite right there lol...
I just finished winterizing my buddies boat with a Vovlo Penta GL4.3 and SX outdrive. I was really surprised at the cost of the Volvo gear oil................. or the lack of it lol.
This oil was $10 a ltr and it just got me thinking, as it is a outdrive "marine oil", could it not be used for a...
Hey guy's
I'm trying to help a buddy out and need some help please.
The problem is with the fuse board/holder infront of the steering wheel, it is fried:mad:. So after finding his problem I thought well that wasn't so bad and went to order a new one.
Well it turns out they are no longer...
Hey guy's
I thought I'd throw this out there and see what comes back. Their are a few of us locally that are looking at a group buy (I know this is a problemin it's self LOL) of a diagnostic tool.
It would mainly be for Mercury and the odd Seadoo, I did some googling and see their are quite a...
Hi Guy's
I did a search and didn't come up with anything.
The outboard in questions is a Johnson 225 around 1990, I've lost one bank. Check the usual places shift interrupter, coils, earths.
So I'm thinking it could be either power pack or trigger, is it possible to check the timing trigger...
Hi Guy's & gals
I have a Johnson 40 (I think it's a 92), when I crank it it will fire and run for a few seconds then cut out. To me that sounds like the choke is working?, I've looked at the pump and it's pumping gas when it's cranking so I think I can rule the pump out.
That is the only thing...
