    Fuel pump 170 mercrus 1986 ? trying to put

    fuelpump back on. Does anybody know why my friends pump goes upsidedown? My guess is the diametier of the block thin at the top wider at the cranck........correct? Do I have to turn the motor to get the pump lever to sit on the cam? TIA Tom

    everyone who responded the 1.81 didn't fit the gimble so I never found out if the spine fit looks like my buddy going to have to spend some cash.I've got to say I learned alot about outdrives these past few days. thanks again for everyone help this is a cool site Tom

    question about an outdrive

    My friend got a boat it has an 4cly 170hp.The yr is an 86, problem is it doesn't have an outdrive. He's looked at a few but acording to the specs it should be an 1.84,a dealer here has 1.50 and a 1.81 just wondering if the1.50 would work and would he have to change the prop also the 1.81 is...
