    Prop "breaks" at high RPMs

    I have a 50hp Merc on a 20 foot Pontoon. At near max RPMs (5500-6000) the prop "breaks loose". I know this can severely shorten a motors' life so I avoid going over 5000 RPMs but I was wondering if it would wiser in the long run to change props. If 'yes', should I go with a larger or smaller pitch?

    Teleflex or Morse

    I will be replacing steering system on a 20' toon w/ a 50hp. Presently has a Morse system. What are advantages of the Teleflex No-Feedback system or is Morse just as good.

    Stiff steering on my new 50hp.

    I just had a new 50hp Merc installed on a 20' 'toon boat and the steering seems to be very stiff. Not just under load but just sitting with engine off.     Synthetic oil for 4-strokes?

    After breking in a new 50hp 4-stroke with conventional oil would it be wrong to switch to synthetic oil after first oil change?<br />Pros and cons of synthetics?

    I've heard good things about Honda and Yamaha 4-stokes in the 50-70hp range. Which is your preference and why?
