Just wanted to say thank you for your tips on using Marine Tex on my cracked block ( 5.7 Merc.) Took awhile to find a Canadian distributor but received it last week.
The good news is it worked like a charm, put it on the hose and ran it up to temp and not a single drop of water. Will launch...
Unfortunately missed one lower drain **** last fall, only to find a crack in the lower left block of my 5.7. My question is has anyone had any success with repairing a cracked block or is it a write-off? I have a 1984 196 Wellcraft Sunhatch, with only 623 hours on it. Thxs.
