    starter swapping

    I've got a 1989 Evinrude 30hp engine w/bad electronic ignition. I'm also getting a 1989 Evinrude 60hp w/bad starter. Will the starter from the 30hp engine fit and work on the 60hp engine? pjcadwell@hotmail.com

    Electronic ign.

    On Evinrude engines, what year did they switch from points to electronic ignition? How can I test the elect. ign unit, without taking it to a certified mechanic? Trying to save $$.
