Replaced the lower unit last year. Boat shifted and ran great! Dumped it in the water this year, hit reverse and it started clanging. Would not go into reverse. Forward, neutral not a problem. No reverse.
Brought it home pulled off the cowling. The linkage will not slide back far enough to go...
Will a 1998 Mariner 115 HP 4 cylinder foot interchange with a 1994 Merc. 115 HP 4 cylinder foot ?
Also, my Merc. foot has a sticker with the number 14. the Mariner has a sticker with the number 13. What do these stickers mean?

Had a problem over the weekend. Backed off the trailer in reverse. Shoved the control into forward and it made a gear grinding sound. Tried it again same noise. Walked it back on the trailer. So much for boating on the fourth.
I found a fuel line hose tie had broken allowing the line to fall...
