    when I added my third tube, I also upgraded my trailer from a scissor style, which doesn't support the tubes at all, to a two bunk trailer. the middle tube hangs free, while the outer tubes are supported. The middle tube is not that heavy, I'd say 125 lbs, never weighed it. I only trailer...

    if your new log doesn't have a built it transom for your motor, keep the new log in front of the existing motor pod. That's what I did.

    If it is a volvo version of the 351, its model name is AQ240. Is it overheating?

    the aq125 is supposed to run at 180-190 deg, it has closed cooling. set the points with a dwell meter, then readjust the ignition timing every time you adjust the points. you also may want to try a prop with less pitch to help get up on plane.

    thanks for the replies. The manual I need is for my 2000 90hp johnson. I checked the link Scott posted, and they do have the manual. it's $100+, and I have to wait for shipping. when I saw the Pdf version for 19.99, my wallet was happy and I can have it right away.

    yes, its run just like this for 12 years, but now I can't remember what I did with the idle mixture screws when I rebuilt the carbs. I may have left them since they are not specified in the POS manual I have. it's been a great motor.

    not sure what you mean by cold idle, but when started cold, it idles high for a couple minutes, then idles down to between 800 and 1000 rpm in neutral.

    this, you may be onto something. Unfortunately, my nonfactory manual does not have the correct info about my motor. it doesn't think my carb has the idle mixture screws, but it does. does anyone have a good manual that has the correct initial setting point for the screws?

    I misspoke the idle is adjusted by the timing. Not at the Carb. I don't think the idle adjustment is the issue. it idles fine but rough, on two cylinders you said.

    thanks! I've searched for a factory manual for this motor on occasion with no luck. with the exception of a slightly rough idle and a bit more vibration up to 2000rpm, the motor runs great. it has excellent throttle response with no hesitation at any time. I may try a different plug and see...

    thanks for the reply. I'm getting mixed feedback on this so I'm not doing anything too involved. as long as I'm not damaging anything. I've been sent down some rabbit holes before. regarding the idle speed, I don't believe it is adjustable on this motor.
